Netflix was looking for a suitable partner to provide technology and advertising on the SVOD platform. The choice fell on the giant from Redmond. According to the information provided, the American company will not only provide the necessary technology, but will also provide advertisements that will be displayed on the aforementioned streaming service. Thanks to this, customers will be able to choose a cheaper tariff plan.
Today we are pleased to announce that we have chosen Microsoft as our global partner in advertising and sales technologies. Microsoft has proven that it can meet our advertising needs in the new subscription plan we are working on together. More importantly, Microsoft has offered flexibility to innovate over time in both technology and sales, as well as strong privacy protection for our users.
– commented Greg Peters, Netflix COO
Earlier, as reported in the media, Netflix undertook further talks with potential partners. According to reports, Netflix has entered into negotiations with Warner Bros, Universal, and Sony on the matter. The report quoted some entertainment industry executives saying the studios would likely demand a bonus of between 15% and 30% to agree to change contracts with the streaming giant.
We have no information about the date of the introduction of the new tariff plan. As the new partners emphasize, “cooperation is at an early stage”. Currently, viewers in Poland can take advantage of three plans: basic (PLN 29 per month, 480p), standard (PLN 43 per month, 1080p) and premium (PLN 60 per month, 4K and HDR).
