The president of the studio ensures that the coronavirus pandemic does not threaten the premiere of Cyberpunk 2077 . What's more, CDP is already planning more single player titles.
Portal Zone Investor published the report on the current situation of CD Projekt RED. As it turns out, Cyberpunk 2077 is on its way to the September premiere and will not even be threatened by the crisis caused by the coronavirus. The creators are calm about the date set and have recently sent the title to organizations dealing with the age rating of video games. REDzi counts on similar ratings as in the case of The Witcher 3 (PEGI 18, ESRB M).
Interestingly, the studio’s plans after the game’s release were also announced. It will work in various projects. Part of the team is to be responsible for story extensions to the upcoming blockbuster. However, most employees will focus on the multiplayer module for Cyberpunk 2077 (which can take the form of a standalone game). Concept works are already underway for the next single player game, as mentioned by the CEO of CD Projekt RED, Adam Kiciński:
We are thinking about another single game, and right after completing work on Cyberpunk, work on the next production will start immediately
We do not know what title we are talking about yet, but no one would be surprised when REDzi intended to return to the Witcher universe. The authorities of the studio have mentioned such a possibility more than once, pointing out, however, that we would certainly not see Geralt’s fate in such a case, as his story has already been completed.
Cyberpunk 2077 will hit stores on September 17, 2020. Production is aimed at PC, PS4 and XONe.
