CD Projekt Red terminated the license agreement with 5 Żywiołami – they ran a real school for witchers in Poland. After seven years of activity, they had to withdraw from this idea, because the developers of games about Geralt of Rivia did not want to be associated with the company any longer.
The Witcher School run by the 5 Elements gave the opportunity to become a witcher after a weekend training session. They were taught fencing, alchemy and the use of signs known from Andrzej Sapkowski’s books.
The contract was broken by the association of 5 Elements with Anna Wawrzyniak, who is the wife of the founder (Dastin Wawrzyniak), who worked in the company in 2017-2019. Later, however, she acted under the wings of Ordo Iuris (a right-wing Catholic organization) on a project that dealt with compulsory immunization and another that would set out penalties for women who performed illegal abortions. When 5 Elements tried to explain the situation, CD Projekt had already canceled the contract and took away the license it needed to run a witcher school.
Redzi officially stated in an interview with Eurogamer that this cooperation is over:
In February, we decided to end our cooperation with the organizers of the Witcher School. The three-month notice period is now over.
5 Elements informed on Facebook that without a license for The Witcher , it could go bankrupt. As an alternative, they try to develop their own fantasy universe on which to base their business.
Currently, CD Projekt Red is working on the new The Witcher , and shooting for the Netflix series is ongoing .
