CD Projekt is working on a sequel to Cyberpunk, which is now referred to as “Project Orion”. At the CD Projekt investors’ event, enough details were shared to confirm the existence of the project and the fact that it is indeed the first sequel. The project will be developed by CD Projekt Red, as confirmed by the creators.
A slide from the presentation about Project Orion appeared on the Twitter account set up by CD Projekt . It did not, however, contain much more than that which had already been discussed.
Orion is the codename of our next Cyberpunk game that will take the whole Cyberpunk brand forward and unlock the full potential of this dark world of the future

Fans have been eagerly anticipating the sequel announcement, as the Cyberpunk franchise itself enjoys immense popularity and the hype around the games despite its numerous problems. After Cyberpunk was adapted to the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners series , even after the unsuccessful launch of Cyberpunk 2077 , it was clear that CD Projekt was still making big plans. Cyberpunk 2077 itself has welcomed a crowd of returning players after the anime’s debut, so it was evident that players were still eager to reach for the game.
However, there is still work to be done on Cyberpunk 2077 itself. Appendix Specter of Freedom it is still in development, although at the moment it is the only planned expansion to the game. CD Projekt also announced additional projects, such as another game in the series Witcher series , so it has a few things up its sleeve, whether they’re created by them or supervised by the studio.
