After Season 3 makes his debut next summer, Henry Cavill will no longer reprise his role as Geralt of Rivia. The actor in The Witcher will be replaced by Liam Hemsworth from season 4. As could be expected, the news did not appeal to a large part of the fans. According to the guiding opinions, it’s not Hemsworth the problem, but how much the show might lose after Cavill’s departure. Many agree that the Brit is the best part of the series, not only because he was the most talented actor on the set, but also put his heart and passion into the character, which the viewers noticed on the screen. For fans, he is perfect for Geralt, so the fans’ reaction to his departure is not at all surprising.
According to rumors, Cavill’s departure is not taking place in a friendly and peaceful atmosphere, as Netflix’s announcement would suggest. The actor reportedly wanted to abandon the show’s set in the second season due to arguments with the show’s producers and writers. The reason for the alleged quarrels was the issue of a good presentation of Geralt and compliance with the original book. Consequently, it is not surprising that fans, in addition to Cavill’s return of course, also want to ‘swap’ the writers. Of course, this is not the entire fandom, but nonetheless the petition made on Change.org with almost 200,000 signatures is impressive.
Henry is not leaving The Witcher by Superman , Netflix management has once again made a serious decision not to implement what their fans want. The reason The Witcher is such a popular series is because fans love the source material in the form of books and games that are hated and constantly ridiculed by writers and showrunners. Henry Cavill is one of those big fans, he knows it all inside out and he wanted to stay true to the Sapkowski world, which is why Netflix wants to replace him.

Netflix is only able to exist because each of us pays them every month to create content that keeps us entertained, unfortunately all public information indicates that the producer team is making decisions completely against our – fan’s – interests. We’ve already had to go through the disaster of ending Game of Thrones – NETFLIX, don’t repeat the exact same mistake of clinging to writers and showrunners who consider themselves superior to the actual writers of the stories that allowed them to succeed.
