Candyman first appeared on screen in 1992. The film was based on various urban legends, and also drew inspiration from the works of Clive Baker. The new version is to tell the story anew, slightly refreshing the ideas served.
The story centers around the artist Anthony, whose career is at a standstill. After moving to a new estate, she learns about the legend of Candyman. The ghost terrorizing the inhabitants is summoned by saying his name five times in front of a mirror. Anthony decides to use a legend to rebuild his career. Soon the situation escalates and the artist’s life turns into a nightmare.
There is definitely something to wait for, because Jordan Peele is working on Candyman – winner of an Oscar for the script for the film Run away! and at the same time the man responsible for the fantastic That’s us .
