Last year, it was reported that work was underway on a potential expansion of the franchise as a series for Disney+. But in March, Disney reportedly dropped the untitled Indiana Jones spin-off after canceling the Lucasfilm sequel series Willow . According to the report, the series was intended to be a prequel to 1981’s Raiders of the Lost Ark and would have focused on Indy’s mentor Abner Ravenwood, an Egyptologist and archaeologist who died before the events of the original film in 1936.
