Blumhouse Productions confirms – there will be a continuation of horror hits!

Things are looking good at Blumhouse Productions. After merging with James Wan’s production house Atomic Monster, the studio became one of Hollywood’s biggest horror producers. As such, Blumhouse boss Jason Blum took to the stage at CinemaCon 2023 on Wednesday to advertise the company’s plan.

According to Blum, we will have a continuation of two hits, which are to turn into real franchises over time. We are talking about M3GAN and Black Telephone , which are to become pillars for Blumhouse.

Both of these films have earned considerable sums on modest production budgets, and talks are already underway for a sequel in both cases.

There is a lot of talk about it, and there is even pressure for a second part to be made. The film cost $18 million and ended up grossing around $160-170 million worldwide. So they want another. It is obvious.

Scott Derrickson, the director of Black Telephone , told us last August

It is already certain that M3GAN 2 will be created . At the moment, however, not much has been revealed about this project. It was only confirmed that Gerard Johnstone and Akela Cooper – the director and screenwriter of the first part of the story about the doll with artificial intelligence – will work on it again.

Well, I can’t say too much about the design. All I can say is that I’m here in Los Angeles, thinking about it, working on it, and just catching up. It’s really important to wrap up the first video properly, do some analysis and look at what worked and how we can do it again to make it all make sense. It is difficult to repeat a success that no one expected. It is daunting but exciting at the same time.

– confirmed Johnstone in an interview for the comicbook website

Apparently, we’ll have to wait for more information.
