Bill Skarsgård starring in the reboot of “The Crow”!

It looks like The Crow will finally come back in a completely new version. No date has been given for the film yet, but it is likely that production will begin this summer. Budget for  this adaption is estimated of around $ 50 million.

The story of The Crow centers on Eric Draven, who is resurrected a year after he and his wife are killed by a local gang. He is reborn with supernatural abilities that give him the opportunity to take revenge on his captors. Its cinematic sequels focus on resurrecting other characters, also seeking to bring the bandits to justice.

The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Eric Draven will be played by Bill Skarsgård and directed by Rupert Sanders, who previously was responsible for Snow White and the Hunter and the film version of Ghost in the Shell . The script was written by Zach Baylin, the well-known screenwriter of the Oscar-winning King Richard: Victorious Family.

The news of the new film’s making has generated mixed reactions among fans: some are excited that Kruk will come back to life, others are disappointed that someone is trying to recreate the 1994 movie and the original comic book.

In the first film , The Crow , Brandon Lee, Bruce Lee’s son, played the main role and, unfortunately, as a result of a tragic accident, he died on the set. The production has three sequels, but no successor has captured the atmosphere and charm of the original version.

In recent years, rumors of a return of the series have often appeared. It was suspected that the main character was to be played by Bradley Cooper or Tom Hiddleston. Also, director Corin Hardy ( The Nun ), who planned to cast Jason Mamoa as Draven, was trying to resume the project. Unfortunately, this project did not materialize, but maybe now, on the wave of popularity of the upcoming reboot, it can be resumed.

This is a story that I am simply in love with and to which I am completely devoted. I put in three and a half years, even four, and also love, blood, sweat and tears. I still have a lot of material, so maybe someday… I guess my reluctance to show them is because I still deeply believe somewhere that Kruk will come out, but we’ll see again. – Corin Hardy confessed in an interview with ComicBook last year.

The topic echoed very loudly on the internet, so it’s definitely just a matter of time before we get new information about the Crow.
