Earlier this year, Bethesda and MachineGames caused quite a stir when they revealed their intention to create the next installment of Indiana Jones’ adventures in the form of a video game. But it turns out that we won’t play it for a long time.
In January, however, apart from the short production trailer itself, nothing else was shown, so the amount of production details so far has been sparse. Now we have finally received new information and it is definitely not very optimistic. At least for those who are eagerly awaiting the moment when they can play Indiana Jones.
Bethesda Vice President of Marketing and Communications Pete Hines spoke about MachineGames and the work of the game studio. He explained that the January preview of the title, which you can view below, was basically just a formal announcement of Bethesda and Disney’s collaboration on a production dedicated to the famous adventurer. Consequently, the design is only now beginning to take shape. As Hines said:
Of course, we actually just announced our partnership, so you can guess for yourself how far the game is in development.
He didn’t add anything else to it, but the conclusions are already obvious. If MachineGames has only recently started production, we can expect the first materials from the game even in a few years. Not to mention the premiere itself, the date of which seems even more distant.
There are still many unanswered questions about Indiana Jones , so fans will have to be patient and count on more news.
