Deadline has confirmed Variety’s earlier reports of two new movies set in the Transformers universe. However, he added quite important information regarding the plot of one of them. Well, the production is to be based on the Transformers: Beast Wars brand . The script is to be written by James Vanderbilt . It is not known yet whether this both would be a spinoff or a reboot of the film series. According to earlier news, the works are to take just such two projects.
Beast Wars tells the story of the descendants of the Autobots and Decepticons – Maximala and Predacons. Unlike their ancestors, new Transformers transform into various animals (e.g. mammals, dinosaurs and insects). The series about their adventures was broadcast in 1996-1999. This story has been expanded to include a computer game and comic book series.
On the occasion of these reports, the name of the writer of the second of the announced films was also revealed. It will be Joby Harold .
