Baldur’s Gate 3 will be released this summer and it will be the first installment of the series also available on consoles. Larian Studios has announced that Baldur’s Gate 3 will be released on August 31. This is of course not a surprise, because August has been talked about for a long time . However, the players were surprised by the information that the game will also be available on PlayStation 5 . The news was announced during the official PlayStation State of Play show. Previously, practically everyone assumed that the third Baldur’s Gate, following in the footsteps of its predecessors, would be available only for PC and Mac.
The new title is the long-awaited continuation of the Baldur’s Gate series , set in the vast fantasy universe of Dungeons & Dragons , specifically the Forgotten Realms. For the needs of the game, Larian Studios created an engine based on the mechanics of D&D Fifth Edition, while the two previous parts operated on the basis of the then D&D 2nd Edition ruleset. The plot follows the fate of a group of heroes captured by mind flayers who find out that illithid tadpoles are implanted in their heads. The process of ceremomorphosis (transforming a human into a mind flayer) has not yet activated, which limits the psionic powers of the heroes.
