The premiere of Baldur’s Gate is getting closer, and now we have received a fresh trailer. It is clear from it that Jason Isaacs has joined the cast. Who will the actor play?
Jason Isaacs will be voiced in Baldur’s Gate III . The actor known from the role of Lucius Malfoy in the Harry Potter films will play a new character from the world of the Forgotten Realms. Larian Studios announced that Isaacs will play Lord Enver Gortash, the creator of a group of mages called the Steel Watchers. Their task is to protect the titular Baldur’s Gate. Gortash is a brand new antagonist in the world of Dungeons & Dragons . Hiring Jason Isaacs for the role suggests that he will be a morally ambiguous ally who is constantly looking for a way to assert his grip on city politics. The game also features JK Simmons as General Ketheric Thorm. Baldur’s Gate 3 is due out in August this year.
The new Baldur’s Gate is another long-awaited installment of the iconic franchise of role-playing games set in the D&D universe . The developers of the game, i.e. Larian Studios, this time built a game engine based on the mechanics of D&D Fifth Edition , while the previous two parts worked on the basis of D&D 2nd Edition. The scenario involves a group of heroes captured by the Mind Flayers. They also learn that illithid tadpoles are implanted in their heads. However, the process of metamorphosis into Reaver has not yet begun, so the heroes have limited psionic powers.
Baldur’s Gate 3 has been in Early Access for some time, but only the first act of the story is available. Based on the trailer above, it looks like players will have a lot more to discover in the Forgotten Realms when they play the full game in August.
