Make it before Dawn
You just ended up in the Maelkava hut. This powerful wizard invites you to a game of a magical card game. During the game, you learn about the history of Astraria, a fantastic land that few people remember today. We get to know not only the history of this place, but also famous leaders and mythical creatures living in it. However, we quickly realize that the story does not have to focus on the past at all. Perhaps it is happening right now and its fate is in our hands. Because only we, thanks to strategy, can save Astraria from the evil army known as Dawn.
Have I played it before?
Causa, Voices of the Dustis a fairly typical card game. At the beginning, we have to build our own deck or choose one of the available ones, and also choose your hero. In the case of a campaign, we additionally indicate the land where we want to start our adventure. Then we sit at the table and duel with the opponent. Of course, we will play more cards here, among which we can find minions, weapons, spells or artifacts, and each of them determines different skills and … costs. Contrary to many famous titles, we will not receive additional points every turn that allow us to engage brave warriors or use magical abilities, but instead we will sacrifice some things from hand. Fortunately, the discarded cards can still be restored, so initially it is worth getting rid of the more expensive ones and then returning for them. However, the differences end there. Players who have spent a lot of time on titles such asMagic: the Gathering , Hearthstone or Gwent will easily understand what’s going on. Even without knowing English or Spanish (because the Causa was published in such languages ). The helpers you play will have features such as taunt (the enemy will not break through and attack) or rush (allowing you to immediately deal damage to the opponent). In other words, they have features that we already know perfectly well. So the only thing left to do is plan your moves well, and count on some luck when drawing cards, and we have victory in our pocket.
At this point, it is also worth adding that Causa has two game modes. The first is, of course, the campaign in which we will travel through Astraria and fight for its fate. The second is PvP – we will face other users. Unfortunately, since the game has only just been released on the market and there are not many users yet, the waiting time to start a multiplayer match exceeds 15 minutes, which can certainly be discouraging.
Climate? Is!
Although the Chileans may not have created the original game, it must be admitted that they tried to provide the appropriate graphics and sound. Causa was presented really nice. At the beginning, we meet the wizard Maelkav, and later in his tent we can see a table with numerous maps and books, looking very realistic. During the campaign, we will see fantastic lands, and our cards will not run out of original graphics depicting various minions. Some of them are additionally animated. During the fight, we will see a lot of effects adequate to the skills of the heroes or spells. On top of all this, there is a whole gallery of heroes that we will have to control.
While the graphic side is well prepared, the music is masterfully designed. Already when logging in, you can hear the delicate sounds of the lute introducing us to the atmosphere. It was the music that made me look forward to the game, when I waited for the confirmation email for the account I created. When navigating the menu, we will also hear a pleasant sound, straight from the Middle Ages. During the game, the pace of the music will accelerate, and our supporters and enemies will give out groans of pain or triumphant shouts when they come to die or win. Hear everything exactly as it should sound.
It is worth a try
Causa, Voices of the Duskit is not a game of discovery. We already know the mechanics from other productions, to which this title will probably strive, but at the same time their popularity cannot be beat. However, it is worth sitting down and discovering the world created by Niebla Games for yourself. It is certainly interesting and has a story to tell. We will appreciate the graphics and music in this production. In addition, we can test the game without much problem as it is free. Of course not so completely. It contains micropayments, thanks to which we will be able to buy more packets of cards or heroes. However, if the programs are long enough, we will collect a fictional currency and make purchases in exchange for it. It will take us a bit longer, but at least our real wallet will not suffer. Personally, I encourage you to visit Astraria. Maybe I can finally play PvP with someone!
