There is excitement in the village: Kakofoniks decided to take part in the famous competition of songs of Gallic bards, in which the prize is the Golden Menhir. Asterix and Obelix will accompany the bard to protect him from the Romans who are to follow him – they must not take their eyes off Cacophonix, even if it means hearing loss!
The new album will feature refreshed illustrations in a new layout, allowing us to dig deeper into the lyrics and drawings of these two geniuses of the ninth play. On this occasion, wishing to accompany his friend René Goscinny’s irrefutable and brilliant scenario, Albert Uderzo was still able to supervise the restoration work carried out by his most faithful associates at the end of 2019 with his absolutely sublime illustrations. Great art!
Starting with illustrations scanned from a 1967 booklet, historians had to resort to all of their druidic skills to recreate the drawings as per Albert Uderzo’s will. The most difficult task was to remove the structure of the print while maintaining the unique art of using ink by Albert Uderzo. Refreshing and calibrating the colors faithful to the original vintage style, they gave the Golden Menhir a rejuvenating treatment that will allow him to win the hearts of old fans and win over new generations of readers.
In addition, to enable fans of all ages to experience the adventure to the fullest and as imagined by the creators, the audio recording of this album will also be available as an online download.
