At the end of June, 29 to be precise, the novel Echo by Thomas Olde Heuvelt will be released. The Albatros Publishing House has undertaken to publish the book on the Polish market.
A trip to the alps that turned into hell. There are things worse than death. He saw her in an old photograph in a Swiss pub. Maudit, a mountain that was not mentioned in the guides and nobody wanted to talk about it. Still – or maybe that’s why – he couldn’t resist her.
He did not know yet that it is not always necessary to listen to her voice when nature calls. The hike of the Alps by young Dutchman Nick Greves and his German colleague Augustin was accompanied by bad signs from the start, but they did not turn back.
And they paid dearly for it: Augustin died in the crevice of the glacier, and Nick – with terrible facial mutilations. He came back downstairs, but he didn’t get out of Maudit’s embrace, he took the mountain with him… within himself. And everyone who has contact with him is affected by it. Also Sam Avery, Nick’s boyfriend.
He himself has to make a decision: either to flee to America, where he comes from, and protect his life and state of mind, or to overcome his own fears, to stick to his beloved, in whom he sometimes sees a monster capable of the greatest crime. He decides to do the latter and, together with Nick, returns to the place where it all began, because this is the only way to help him free himself from the dark force that has overwhelmed him. But is it possible to fight the mountain?
