Experienced players often pull out higher difficulty board games that require planning, counting, and strategic thinking. Others prefer epic adventures on a board with beautiful figures and scenarios to play out. But it is known that this is a narrow group compared to the entire society. That’s why simple games based on known rules are so important, because they can convince other people to take up the board game hobby. And KLASK 4 may be such a game .
The original, i.e. the two-person version, was created almost 10 years ago. A rectangular table with magnets as the main character is great fun, but unfortunately it is not suitable for a meeting with a larger group. Fortunately, recently, thanks to the Rebel publishing house, players have been able to enjoy the four-player version. This time we got a round table adapted to a larger group.

The rules are very simple and in general they resemble those from Cymberagaj . Players sit at the edges with recesses into which we place markers that count down points. Everyone also receives a bar made of two parts. One is placed under the table and the other on it. The pieces attract each other thanks to magnets, so by moving the lower part, we control the upper one. We place white magnets on five round fields in the middle. We can start.
Everyone starts with five points. They can be lost in 4 ways. The element that allows you to “shoot goals” is the ball. We will hit it with our sticks so that it is in the recess of the board next to other players. We also deduct points for losing the connection between two pieces of our stick or when its upper part falls into our own goal. The last way to lose a point is to go too boldly to the center of the table, where at least two white magnets will stick to you.
After someone loses a point, their marker is moved to a lower field, all white magnets return to their initial places, and the player who lost the point places the ball on the table, starting the rest of the game. Once someone’s marker reaches the end of the track, the game ends and the person with the most points wins.
Does KLASK 4 deserve applause?
The game is made very well. A wooden table can, of course, be damaged like any other element, but with normal use it has a very long life. Unfortunately, the box takes up a lot of space and is certainly not suitable for any standard shelf with board games. However, the size and workmanship translate into a rather high price, which may scare away potential customers.
Like any game designed for a specific number of people, KLASK 4 will also only be pulled out when there are four players, limiting the situations in which it will be pulled out to the table. Of course, you can play this version with 2 or 3 people and cut off the part where no one is sitting with a strip. You can also simply play without limiting the playing field, but it will happen that the ball will escape to a place that no one can reach with their stick.
KLASK 4 also has a team mode. People sitting opposite each other try to score goals for the others, pass or sacrifice themselves and collect magnets so that someone can move safely to the chosen place. This will definitely work in games with children, who alone against adults will have no chance of winning.
Arcade games are not my favorite. I belong to that group of players who prefer to sit and think rather than chaotically wave the stick and shout when a goal is scored. The exception and my favorite arcade game is Crokinole , but it’s not about speed, but good aim and a steady hand. However, I see crowds of people carrying KLASKA boxes to tables at conventions and having a great time at them. My family is also delighted with the four-seater version and is considering buying the first, two-seater edition. That’s why I know that it is a popular title and well received by all fans. However, I will only play KLASKA when my child or friends want to play an arcade game. It’s a good item, but I’m not a good reader of it.
