Three years after the last Hellboy movie was made, it seems the time has come for a new attempt at telling the adventures of the character created by Mike Mignola. Discussing Film informs that work on the title was started by Millennium Media, the studio that produced the 2019 film starring David Harbour.
The project is supposed to be a new start for the character, and it is directed by Brian Tylor, a creator who previously worked, among others, in over Ghost Rider 2 . According to rumors, casting has already begun, and shooting will begin in April. If the information turns out to be true, we can expect their confirmation soon.
However, this is not the end of the news. Discussing Film also reports that work on the film is progressing rapidly and that it even has a provisional title: Hellboy: The Crooked Man . Readers of Mike Mignola’s comics know him well. In this story, the title character goes to Virginia in the 1950s. If the rumors are true, it could be a great choice for a new reboot due to the closed plot.
Hellboy’s adventures on the big screen so far have not ended in the best way. Although the first two parts of the film created by Guillermo del Toro and starring Ronem Pearlman were well received by both fans and critics, the third film in the series was never made and the story was not finished. In turn, the production from 2019 with the star of Stranger Things as Hallboy turned out to be a financial flop and did not gain recognition in the eyes of viewers. Perhaps it was for this reason that a quick reboot was decided.
