The animated series from the 90s is considered a classic of the genre. This means that the bar for the creators of a possible continuation is really high.
The news of the alleged plans of WarnerMedia was provided by the co-host of the Fatman Beyond podcast , Marc Bernardin. To his knowledge, HBO Max is set to work on a sequel to Batman . Kevin Smith also commented on this:
I am not involved [in the project – ed. author], but I also heard about it and from very credible people.
Although the series only aired for three years, it managed to win the hearts of the audience and became a classic. It is to Batman that we owe, among others the character Harley Quinn, who debuted in episode twenty-second and became so popular that it was transferred to the comic book pages. In addition, the series featured the wonderful duo Kevin Conroy & Mark Hamill playing Batman and Joker respectively.
It is not known in what form this sequel would be created. Everything will be clarified after the official information is announced, for which (if the rumors prove to be true) we should not wait too long. However, if HBO wants to increase the number of its subscribers, this step seems to be the most appropriate.
