Here is the opportunity to read the entire Sin Trilogy by Richard Knaak in one book. The Law of Blood , Dragon Scales and False Prophet will bring you closer to the story of Uldysjan al Diomed – a man endowed with great power that allows him to measure himself against beings not of this world. Will you follow him as one of his nephalem? Or maybe you’ll side with the angels, who don’t have to be good at all?
Long long time ago…
But it was a great adventure. Monumental and full of obstacles, able to scare off with the sheer length of reading. However, if we get through more than a thousand pages of three novels, we will be rewarded with a plot worthy of its computer prototypes. If we’re fans of Diablo games here , I have to warn you that the books don’t have much to do with it. Of course, we will meet many characters here who play an important role in the source material, but the events themselves take place tens or even hundreds of years earlier. A huge plus for people who have never played Diablo , and for veterans of the series an interesting addition to the world created by the creators.
Adventures of a farmer
The main character of the entire trilogy is the aforementioned Uldysian. This simple farmer has lost most of his family to a plague in the local area. He only had his brother Mendeln left. One day, the man’s village is visited by representatives of two religious cults that rule almost the entire world. After the death of one of the missionaries, Uldyssian is convicted of murder. He is saved from death by the powers he discovers, which not only allow him to survive, but also start his conflict with both religions. Will he be able to gain henchmen and defeat the great cults of this world?
From Zero To Hero
It would be difficult to quote the entire plot here, or even its delicate outline, because there is too much going on here. The trilogy is Uldyssian’s journey through Sanctuary, but he also touches on other worlds. The adventure begins with meeting the heroes and entering the world of Diablo , but after a while the hero is drawn into a monumental clash between higher beings. Religious fanatics, demons, angels, monsters stand in his way. Fortunately, as the power of his enemies grows, so does his own power. In a way, the plot can even be compared to an RPG and the gradual development of your own character. The whole trilogy can be summed up in such a way that the further we are in the books, the bigger the mess awaits us.
Now everything is clear!
For veterans of the Diablo game seriesthe initial contact with the book can be a bit difficult. We find ourselves in the world of the Sanctuary, which, however, is devoid of most of the monsters and phantoms that the heroes have to face in the series of computer games. Here, however, we have a land with inhabitants living in blissful ignorance of the threat coming from the heavens. Other worlds are just legends to them. All they know is that the world is ruled by two great religions. The author also very well showed the surprise and shock of ordinary mortals, but when this everyday idyll begins to deteriorate. Creatures from hell crawl to the surface of the farmland, and all normality disappears in the blink of an eye. This is clearly a Sanctuary from before the events of the games, and you can see it at first glance. And we can discover what actually happened here. Certainly, after reading, we will also look at the plots of the production for computers in a completely different way, because we get a ready description of the origin of the relationship between angels and demons. If you’ve been wondering how their conflict actually started, here’s your answer.
Not only for fans
As you might expect, The Sin Trilogy is the perfect read for gaming fans. As it turns out, however, it is also a very neat fantasy set in a quasi-medieval reality. Even if you didn’t know the Diablo series before, the books can be a very good introduction to it or just standalone reading. The story of a farm hero who ends up fighting alongside the gods is also bound in a beautiful, elegant hardcover. The 1,100-page tome is sure to look beautiful on a shelf. But first, it’s worth reading them!
