Earlier, Gilroy revealed that Ariel Kleiman, who directed, among others, several episodes of Yellowjackets, now take on part of the second season of Andorra. In addition to Kleiman, the episodes will be directed by Janus Metz Pedersen and Alonso Ruizpalacios. Metz is a Danish filmmaker known, among others, from working on a spy thriller All the Old Knives. Ruizpalacios is a Mexican director who has previously worked with Diego Luna (Cassian Andor) on the set of Narcos: Mexico. According to information from Collider, the upcoming season will stick to the convention of the first, because the three directors will direct their blocks of episodes in the second season. Kleiman will take on the same role as Toby Haynes in Season One, directing six episodes split into two blocks.
As for writers, Gilroy has confirmed his brother Dan Gilroy as well as Beau Willimon. They will also be making their debut with Tom Bissell, whom Gilroy described as’ a really cool and really, really interesting, versatile, really good writer, but also a very, very, very big Star Wars fan , which we really wanted to provide as we go into Rogue.
Andorra is set five years before the events of Rogue One, Star Wars Stories, so the series featured several characters from the film. In addition to the main character Cassian Andor (Diego Luna), Mon Mothma (Genevieve O’Reilly) also appears in the story, and Saw Gerrera (Forest Whitaker) and Ruescott Melshi (Duncan Pow) return in the eighth episode. Fans of the series are still keeping their fingers crossed that the K-2SO droid (Alan Tudyk) will return in the second season. Season 1 episodes debuted on Disney + every Wednesday, and we’re still waiting for the last three.
