No one was more excited about the return of Star Wars prequel star Hayden Christensen than Ahsoka director Peter Ramsey.
Last week’s episode of Star Wars: Ahsoka ended with the first live-action meeting between the titular character, played by Rosario Dawson, and Anakin Skywalker, played by Hayden Christensen . The appearance was, of course, unexpected, as the series takes place after the events of Return of the Jedi and the death of Darth Vader/Anakin. But what does this mean? Well, that’s not certain yet, Peter Ramsey himself, who directed the episode, spoke to IGN this week about the experience of putting Christensen back into Star Wars combat for the first time in many, many years.
Although Christensen’s acting as Anakin was met with much criticism when the prequels first premiered in theaters, Star Wars fans have since changed their minds about the prequels and the opinions and derision that Hayden Christensen, Jake Lloyd, Ahmed Best and other cast members. Everyone involved with the series is very excited to see Christensen and Best find success on Disney+ shows .
I told Dave Filoni, “Man, you gave me a foolproof episode.” I was lucky to come across the one where all the different threads of the story come together. You’d have to really mess up for it to not be engaging in the end.

Ramsey also praised Christensen personally, saying that the star was more than happy to bring Anakin’s character to life.
He’s a really sweet, reserved guy. He was quite happy to be able to play the role again after such a long time. This was of great importance to him. We talked about what it was like for him to meet Ahsoka after such a long time. I told him, “It’s like you haven’t seen your daughter in two years. She goes to college, you see her again, and she’s a completely different person, but she’s still your daughter.”
What will we be able to see in the latest series about the adventures of the brave Jedi?
Fan-favorite Star Wars heroine Ahsoka Tano returns in an all-new series on Disney+. Rosario Dawson stars as her character in Star Wars: Ahsoka , which premiered on August 22 on the streaming platform. The series begins after the events of The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett , in which we saw the former Jedi searching for Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen) and helping Luke Skywalker train Grogu.
Ahsoka embarks on her new journey with longtime allies Sabine Wren (Natasha Liu Bordizzo) and Hera Syndulla (Mary Elizabeth Winstead). They will try to track down Thrawn, who was last seen disappearing into the distant reaches of space just after a confrontation with Ezra Bridger (Eman Esfandi).
Star Wars: Ahsoka is the latest live-action series from Lucasfilm’s creative duo of Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni.
