On November 3, another, interesting meeting will take place as part of the City of Imagination series – meetings with fantasy at the Municipal Public Library. Tadeusz Różewicz in Wrocław!
The meeting will be held with Jakub Bielawski, and its title is Magic enchanted in an old washing machine – a post-industrial landscape as an inspiration for authors of incredible literature.
Living in a space where man has left his mark on it means that certain cultural codes (including universal sources of fear) have to be redefined. In the 21st century, is it still possible to scare a big bad wolf in a dark forest? Or maybe it’s time for stories about an abandoned factory, where something that has no right to live lives? What can American ghost towns and Polish former state-owned villages have in common? Can the magical and dangerous landscapes of old castles and dark forests be replaced by an abandoned farm machinery base? Let’s take a look at what the modern authors of creepypasts and urban legends eat.
