An animal that only I can see … – a review of the comic book “Czarolina. The mystery of my origin ”vol. 3

Another book with the adventures of Czarolina will delight fans of fantastic stories. Sylvia Douyé and Paola Antista will allow readers to learn about the further fate of the heroines and heroes of the reviewed series. The fantasy science course continues, but have all the puzzles on the island of Vorn been solved? And are the heroes safe?

The magical world of comics

The authors got us used to the beautiful covers of Czarolina . The third volume introduces us to the world of new fantastic heroes, accompanying the title character in his adventures. The animal that the girl meets in the swamps is of particular interest. Interestingly, no one else sees this creature. His presence on the island of Vorn may arouse not only curiosity but also fear. Reading the comic book will allow the reader to obtain information whether the animal really exists or is only a prediction. Even though the danger – supposedly – has passed and all friends turned into glass statues have been saved, we cannot be sure that the heroes are safe.

Franco-Italian idea

The title of the volume indicates a very interesting thread about the title character’s past. The girl is still on the island of Vorn and together with her friends – likeable Arlena, ambitious Tara and cheerful Willa – she learns what cryptozoology is. Readers of the series will surely know that the course is being conducted by Archibald Balzar with his assistant – Madame S., a vampire whose presence will be especially important. In addition, the third volume will also feature characters from the comic book that initiated the series. However, do not be fooled – the story told will not let you boredom, on the contrary – you will not distract yourself from reading it quickly!

Magic heroes and scenery

The magical world of heroes becomes more and more mysterious from one volume to another. Even if we readers think we know the truth, Douyé assures us that we really don’t know anything. The atmosphere of mystery is also built on the basis of conflicts between peers – they become distrustful of each other, which affects the main plot. We can also look at the heroes from a psychological perspective – we learn that the adepts on the island of Vorn remember traumatic experiences from the past. It is also worth emphasizing that in this volume Douyé allowed the reader to get to know the selected characters better.

Is it worth it?

We read the next volume about Czarolina’s adventures with bated breath. The story is no less complex, but the reader, who has already got to know the adventures of the title character, has got used to the original form of Douyé. Fantasy lovers will surely like the new species of cryptids – there are many more magical animals in this volume than in the opening comic book.
