Amy Jo Johnson was born on October 6, 1970 in Massachusetts, USA. However, since 2015, he has dual citizenship – American and Canadian.
Amy Jo is known not only as an actress, but also as a talented singer and director. She started with gymnastics, but abandoned it to pursue acting. She moved to California, and her trained body helped her get her first role as a pink masked superhero for children. She played for several seasons on the Power Rangers series . She also made a full-length film about colorful heroes with her participation Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie (1997). While the show gained international recognition, she and her fellow lead actors were earning just $ 600 a week, and since they performed all of the show in person, Amy Jo Johnson had several accidents. That is why she gave up the role to appear even episodically in the series on the occasion of the twentieth anniversaryPower Rangers.
In the years that followed, she appeared in television movies such as Susie Q, Perfect Body (1997, about a gymnast with an eating disorder). Then, from 1998, she played for several seasons on the series Felicity. In the following years, she appeared in many films and series, and recorded several albums.
She has directed several films, the most recent of which is the critically acclaimed Tammy’s Always Dying, starring Felicity Huffman.
As a director, I really enjoy dealing with difficult topics and trying to find the lightness that is hidden in them, because we all need it to be able to laugh in difficult times.
Amy Jo married Olivier Giner in 2009, with whom she later divorced. He has one daughter.
