The secret attracts the most
Humanity in the 24th century is plagued by insufficient food and raw materials, and travels through the distant space are to help them survive. The main characters find the corpses of huge giants of mysterious origin and decide to use them for their own purposes. Ewing tells the story very mysteriously, drawing the reader in with the promise of explaining hidden threads. It is a very ambitious science fiction, requiring the reader to focus and trust that the content that Ewing does not explore from the very beginning will be explained to us or at least sketched. I fully put my reading awareness into the hands of the British and I forgive all understatements and imperfections, waiting for the further development of the plot. I believe in the script writer’s talent, which is strongly manifested, among others, in in Immortal Hulk. I could accuse him of a somewhat superficial relationship between the characters, which does not develop their characters, but this is only the first volume and it is difficult for me to judge based on it.
Cosmic visual setting
Di Meo creates amazing staff. He feels at home in the plot very well and shouldn’t have any complexes when experimenting with individual panels. The orange and dark design is perfect for cosmic landscapes, full of debris and meteorites. After the first scenes, you will remember your drawing treatments and you will recognize Di Meo’s style without any problems, even if it is not the series We Only Find Them When They’re Dead .
Find them when they are already dead
In summary, the comic book published by Non Stop Comics is a great material to ignite the reader’s ambitions and the desire to reach for more. The series nominated for Eisner will find its audience in Poland, especially thanks to the excellent translation of Paweł Bulski. I will certainly read the second volume, because Ewing has successfully ignited my curiosity.
