Already today, the second edition of “Daughters of the Forest” will hit the shelves of the bookstore!

Today, The Daughter of the Forest has its premiere  – the first part of   Juliet Marillier’s Seven Rivers series, and at the same time a thrilling story about Sorscha, the seventh daughter of a seventh son, who is the only one who can save her father and brothers. This is the second edition of the novel, published by Paper Moon.

Lord Colum of the Seven Rivers was blessed with six sons: Liam, the natural leader; Diarmid, passionate about adventures; twins Cormack and Connor, each with a different calling; a rebellious Finbar, much more mature than age indicated, all because of his gift and his young, compassionate Padriack.

But it is Sorscha, his seventh child and only daughter, who is doomed to defend his family and lands alone. All because her father has been charmed, and a spell has been cast on her brothers that only Sorscha can break.

To save her brothers’ lives, Sorscha leaves the only safe place she has known so far and embarks on a journey full of pain, loss and terror.

When she is kidnapped by enemy forces and taken to unknown lands, it seems that she will have no chance to break the curse that condemns everything she loves. However, magic knows no bounds, and Sorscha will have to choose between the life she has known so far and the love that happens once in a million.

The above description comes from the publisher’s website.

Does this story sound familiar to you? If so, then rightly so, because the  Daughter of the Forest by Juliet Marillier is a retelling of the Brothers Grimm’s famous fairy tale about the brothers turned into swans and their brave, determined sister. However, the first volume of the Siedmiorzecze  series  is not a fairy tale, but a thrilling and mature story reminiscent of the  Mists of Avalon by  Marion Zimmer Bradley or  Clan of The Cave Bear  by Jean Auel.

The story of Sorscha is a story of pain, a curse, the power of love capable of overcoming adversities, as well as many trials that the main character will undergo on her way to save herself and her family. The action of the novel takes place in Ireland in the fall of antiquity – a place rich in magic where legends are reality.

The first edition of Marillier’s book premiered in Poland in 2019, but thanks to the Papierowy Moon Publishing House, we can refresh our memory about the fate of Sorscha or only get to know it. It is impossible to pass by this thick, over 600-page long publication.

If you haven’t got your own copy yet, catch up on your backlog now . We guarantee that you will have a thrilling journey into the unknown, from which you will not want to return soon.
