Alan Wake 2 is one of those legendary games that many thought would never see the light of day. The first Alan Wake game was incredibly well received thanks to its unique message, fantastic storyline, and intense gameplay. Unfortunately, she failed to gain enough applause. However, Remedy Entertainment always wanted to come back with another part. After all, the game is due out later this year! However, since its first reveal, we haven’t seen anything of this gameplay apart from the occasional update in an interview or blog post.
Remedy has confirmed that it doesn’t look like any delay is on the horizon. The developer recently released its annual investor report and confirmed that the game is still on track for release in 2023. He also noted that the development of the game has been going very well over the past year. However, the interesting thing about this annual report is the section on page 16 that talks about Remedy’s commercial game release models. One of its models is the standard premium edition with paid DLCs. As an example, Remedy stated that both Control 2 and Alan Wake 2 would fall into this category. Of course, we probably won’t get any details on this until or a bit before the release of the game.
Remedy is known for backing its single-player games with large post-launch DLCs. Only time will tell what Remedy has in store, but we may not have to wait another decade without another Alan Wake.
