In the new trailer for Star Wars : Ahsoka on Disney+, Ahsoka Tano recalls the words of her Jedi teacher Anakin Skywalker. In the trailer, we see Ahsoka confronting ex-Jedi Baylan Skoll, played by the recently deceased Ray Stevenson. Baylan informs the former Padawan that everyone in the Jedi Order knew Anakin as a Jedi Knight, but few had the opportunity to see what he became. We will also hear Hayden Christensen as Anakin and see a glimpse of his transformation into Darth Vader after his battle with Obi-Wan on Mustafar. In another scene, Ahsoka reflects on her departure from Anakin and the Jedi Order at the end of the Clone Wars . In an episode of the TV series RebelsAhsoka, being one of the few who know who Anakin has become, faces Darth Vader. In the trailer, it’s already Anakin teaching his Padawan:
There’s more to this war than just droids. As your Master, it is my duty to prepare you. I won’t always be around to look after you. Do not be afraid. Trust your instincts. I know you’ll be fine, Ahsoka.
How will Anakin return?
These statements appear to have been recorded by Christensen specifically for the show. It’s possible it’s a flashback to when Ahsoka and Anakin fought together during the Clone Wars .
Hayden had previously appeared in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series as Anakin and Darth Vader. He donned the Padawan robes from Attack of the Clones again to duel Obi-Wan Kenobi, his master.
Will we see the Chosen One on screen?
While rumors had already circulated that Christensen would return to the role in Ahsoka , Rosario Dawson, in an interview with Total Film magazine , said:
I’m glad I joined a project like this and he [Hayden] was able to return [ Obi-Wan Kenobi ] and get a warm welcome from the Star Wars family , which I feel is well deserved. It’s definitely one of those moments where it would be incredibly cool if he starred [in Ahsoka ], but I’m really grateful that we share the same galaxy.
Fan-favorite Star Wars character Ahsoka Tano returns in a new series on Disney+. Rosario Dawson plays the lead role in Star Wars: Ahsoka , and the premiere is scheduled for August 23. The series takes place after the events of The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett , where we have already seen the former Jedi searching for Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen) and helping train Grog alongside Luke Skywalker. The Gray Jedi embarks on a new mission with former allies Sabine Wren (Natasha Liu Bordizzo) and Hera Syndulla (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) to find Thrawn, who recently disappeared into deep space after a clash with Ezra Bridger (Eman Esfandi). Ahsokais the latest live-action Star Wars series from Lucasfilm creative duo Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni.
