Sony is taking another step towards developing its own movie universe with Marvel characters. This time it’s about casting one of Spider-Man’s most famous enemies.
Well known to fans of Quicksilver’s and Kick-Ass’s superhero roles, Taylor-Johnson will make his debut as Kraven in Kraven the Hunter . From the very beginning, Sony was looking for a well-known Hollywood actor who could handle the portrayal of the character. There is no information about the possible plot of the film yet.
Sergei Kravinoff is a character well known to fans of Marvel comics, especially those about Spider-Man. For nearly 60 years, this hunter, who comes from the Russian aristocracy, has made life difficult for the spider. His motivation to fight the hero from New York is to prove that he is the greatest hunter in the world. Kraven believes the only way to do this is to hunt Spider-Man. Since his debut, he has acted both independently and in cooperation with the Złowieszczą Six.
According to current reports, the film will be directed by JC Chandor. Art Marcum, Matt Holloway and Richard Wenk will probably write the script. The producers of the film will be Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach. Kraven the Hunter is set to debut in theaters in January 2023.
