Work on the long-awaited Mad Max: Furiosa has finally begun. Fans have been eagerly awaiting the first official details of the film’s plot and it looks like their wish has finally come true. Here is what Warner Bros. wrote about the production:
As the world collapses, young Furiosa is kidnapped from the Green Place of Many Mothers and falls into the hands of a great horde of motorcyclists led by Warlord Dementus. While wandering the Wasteland, they come across the Citadel, presided over by Immortan Joe. During the two Tyrants’ war for supremacy, Furiosa has to endure many trials preparing the means to find a way home.
In an interview with Deadline, director George Miller revealed that:
I’m extremely excited about making Furiosa because it’s a great return to the world of Mad Max, and at the same time there are so many differences. The largest of these is, of course, the time frame. Besides, “Fury Road” happened in three days and two nights, and here’s a saga that goes on for 15 years.
Taylor-Joy added :
I was delighted to learn that this spinoff was going to be made. I’m going to work hard and do my best to keep the fans happy. I fell in love with Furios. The way Charlize introduced her was simply amazing and it will be hard to match her. She did such an amazing job. However, I am not going to follow her. I have to give the character something new, something from myself. I have already started dreaming what it will look like.
The premiere of Mad Max: Furiosa is scheduled for May 2024.
