James Wan, director of films such as Saw, Insidious and The Conjuring, returns with a new and mysterious horror film. Malignant will appear in American cinemas and in HBO Max on September 10 (in Poland the film will appear a week earlier, on September 3). As there is not much time left before the premiere, the company posted a second trailer for the movie on the Internet, which gives the best look at Wan’s upcoming project.
Annabelle Wallis will play the main role in the upcoming horror movie. She will play the role of a girl tormented by disturbing visions of brutal murders. However, the heroine is shocked when it turns out that the killings in her nightmares are actually taking place. In addition to Annabelle, we will see Maddie Hason, Jacqueline McKenzie and Ingrid Bisu on the screen. The latter previously collaborated with Wan on the film The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, and is now also a co-writer and producer.
Last year, Annabelle Wallis was interviewed about the film and working with the director:
I think we have something very special. I think it’s genre-bending. I think it’s so brave. It’s so original. I just haven’t read anything like it. And you know, again, I’m at a place in my life and my career where it’s time to be brave. It’s time to push.
And James Wan, we worked together on Annabelle, which was the first time I ever came to America. And then, he watched The Loudest Voice, and he said he loved my work. So, he was like, ‘I wrote this part for you, Annabelle. Let’s collaborate.’
The film will be shown in cinemas soon. The fact that James Wan is responsible for the film translates into high expectations among fans. The actress’s assurances also indicate that the new horror movie will be exceptionally good. However, we have to wait for the first opinions until the premiere.
