A new monster in the second season of “The Witcher”

On the occasion of the upcoming premiere of the second season of The Witcher, the creators reveal more and more details from the new production. This time they showed Myriapod, the monster Geralt will face.

The promotion of the new season of The Witcher continues. In a several-second-long movie, which does not reveal too much, the creators presented one of the monsters Geralt will face. Myriapod (Scolopendromorph) is a twirl-like eight-legged monster with huge teeth and horns. In defense, the witcher uses the runes on the sword (orange glow) and the Quen sign.

In season two, Geralt (Henry Cavill), convinced that Yennefer (Anya Chalotra) has died, takes Cirilla (Freya Allan) to his childhood home. The walls of the Kaer Morhen fortress separate them from a world of war where kings, elves, humans and demons fight for supremacy on the Continent. It turns out, however, that the mysterious power that the princess carries is a greater threat.

The second season of The Witcher will hit Netflix on December 17.

Below is a post with a video and a quote from the Sword of Destiny by Andrzej Sapkowski.

The colopendromorph rustled in the grass, scratched its legs, and lunged at him, lifting its front segments, clacking venomous claws. Geralt danced, jumped over the flat body and whirled with his sword, aiming at softer places, between the armored plates of the torso. The monster was too fast, however, the sword struck the chitinous shell without cutting it – a thick carpet of moss absorbed the impact. Geralt jumped back, but not agile enough. The centipede wrapped the back of his body around his legs with excruciating force. The witcher fell down, rolled over and tried to get away. Unsuccessfully. Wij bent and turned to reach it with its claws, scratching violently against the tree with its claws, slipping over it. At that moment an arrow hissed above Geralt’s head, tapped against the armor, and jumped back. Braenn tried it on again sewing at an incredible pace, but she already knew it was too late. The shell covering the monster’s body was too thick and wrinkled for the arrows to break it. Geralt screamed softly as the pincers plunged into his arm. The venom was fast, so it didn’t hurt much.
