In Dungeon Scrawler by WizKids, players race to clear a maze of dungeons by defeating monsters and collecting treasures. While the first game in the series involved a journey through Undermountain (a megaloch located under Waterdeep), in the new installment we will have to traverse the streets and canals of the famous Sword Coast city and overcome mini-labyrinths. The set will also include an enlarged dungeon in which we will meet one of the four bosses.
As in the previous game, each player chooses one of five class types, each of which gives him the opportunity to overcome a different type of obstacles in the maze. For example, a wizard can cast a spell simply by drawing a small circle as the spell symbol. Although new characters are to be introduced to the game, their basic skills will remain unchanged.
WizKids has several other Dungeons & Dragons based games available or expected later this year. The most notable of these is Dungeons & Dragons: Onslaught , a competitive skirmish game where players form teams of characters from different factions and then pit them against other teams into dungeons inhabited by a wide variety of monsters.
