We can’t imagine that it was almost seven years after the release of The Witcher 3, all Easter eggs have already been discovered. Recently, however players found another secret hidden in this incredibly complex game, namely the 2016 expansion pack: Blood and Wine .
In addition to The Witcher 3 , Blood and Wine , players will meet an intriguing woman, a noblewoman from Toussaint, Vivienne. The girl finds herself in an unusual situation, which Geralt learns when he becomes more interested in her biography in order to help Guillaume – an errant knight who wants to win the heart of a young aristocrat. A side mission in which Vivienne’s tragic fate is revealed is the Song of a Knight’s Heart .
It turns out that Vivienne is cursed and at each full moon she turns into a monster resembling a hybrid of a human and an oriole. One of the endings of the quest may be to remove the curse from the girl, but unfortunately, after this particular method, she will not survive longer than the bird she is cursed in. Youtuber xLetalis took an interest in the topic and discovered that the time Vivienne has been left is around seven years.
After the player completes the mission in this way, Vivienne can then be found on Skellige. xLetalis checked whether the noblewoman really had only seven years of life left and by various methods, such as meditation, moved the time in the game forward seven years. As it turns out, the curse was real and you can find Vivienne dead in the harbor below Kaer Trolde, specifically in Yennefer’s room.
Philipp Weber, a quest writer for Cyberpunk among others , is responsible for this Easter egg. He confirmed that this secret was in the game and congratulated xLetalis on finding it after so many years.
I’m not sure if this is the last undiscovered secret in the game, but it is definitely one of the last. – Weber confessed in an interview with IGN. – Everyone who worked on the game hid so many little curiosities during the last months of working on “The Witcher 3” that for sure people will still discover new things. This Easter egg was more hidden than the rest that I am responsible for, so it’s really impressive.
