On Tuesday, Amazon Prime Video introduced the world to the new hero who we will see in the series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power . It is a young boy Theo, played by Tyroe Muhafidin. It is his hands that hold a broken sword on one of the posters promoting the production.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is an Amazon series that takes us to the world of Tolkien in the Second Age, long before the action of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings .
After introducing fans to the new character, speculation about what kind of sword Theo is holding has resumed, nothing else is known about the boy. As The Rings of Power is set to take place in the second era, it’s definitely not Isildur’s Narsil. Many interested people believe that it is Gurthang, the legendary blade belonging to Turin, the main character of the story of the Children of Hurin , whom he took his own life after his sister also committed suicide. Perhaps the sword fell into Theo’s hands many years after these events?

It is worth noting, however, that the Amazon series will not be a faithful adaptation of The Silmarillion due to problems with the rights to Tolkien’s work. So it is possible that the blade we see in Theo’s hands is something completely new.
