The production, called Blade Runner 2099 , is made for Amazon and it will be an acting series. As the title suggests, the action will be set in 2099, but apart from that, nothing more is known about the plot. The writer and executive producer is Silka Luisa.
According to reports from Deadline, Ridley Scott may direct at least some of the episodes. It was he who in November last year suggested that a new project was coming, which would be a continuation of the iconic Android Hunter and Blade Runner 2049 . In an interview with the BBC, he admitted that he already had a script for the pilot episode ready and a plan for the rest of the season. According to him, the story is to last 10 hours in total.
Within thirty years, three productions were made, inspired by the novel by Philip K. Dick – Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep ? They include the two aforementioned films and the animated series Blade Runner: Black Lotus . Also worth mentioning are the two extended versions of Android Hunter , which came out in 1992 and 2007, respectively.
It is not yet known when Blade Runner 2099 may debut .
