A new adaptation of the manga “Hellsing” is being created

The now cult “Hellsing” will get a new screen adaptation. This time, however, it will not be an anime, but an actor’s production. One of the co-authors of the “John Wick” series will be responsible for writing the script.

According to Deadline, Amazon is working on an acting film based on the manga series Hellsing . The script is to be handled by Derek Kolstad. For now, there are no details about the plot or even a possible release date.

In an official statement, Kolstad admitted that he is a big fan of the title and has wanted to film its adaptation for a long time. When he found out that producer Mike Callaghan had won the rights to Hellsing, he considered it a dream come true. They will be working on the project with fellow producer Brian Kavanaugh-Jones.

Callaghan in his own statement told about how he got to know the vampire world created by Kota Hirano. Well, it was Derek Kolstad who first showed him the Hellsing . A producer who is a huge fan of works about vampires immediately decided that this material was worth paying attention to. He also did not hide the excitement of starting work and accepting the project by Amazon.

Hellsing first came to light in 1998. The action of the manga takes place in modern England. The title organization Hellsing operates there, led by successive descendants of the legendary Abraham van Hellsing. Its goal is to fight all kinds of vampires that threaten humans. The lead agent of this organization is Alucard – an exceptionally powerful vampire who has been in the service of the van Hellsing family for generations. A series of horror drew handfuls of classics the main inspiration for the author was, of course, Dracula by Bram Stoker.
