John Wick 4 will make itself at home in Polish cinemas from March 24. The film is already receiving positive reviews. It is even said to be the best of the series. There is something to look forward to. The great news for John Wick fans is that the film will also be shown in IMAX and 4DX formats.

Here comes John Wick with Keanu Reeves, who plays the titular killer for the fourth time. Although working on the set has exhausted him both physically and mentally, he himself announces it as “the most interesting and spectacular”.

We would like to remind you that John Wick is a hitman, one of the best in his profession, who retired in the name of love, trying to forget about the years of doing evil. In the fourth part, Keanu faces the final duel that may give him the longed-for freedom. Only now she has an entire international organization of top hitmen against her, and her new boss, the Marquis de Gramont, is as sophisticated as he is ruthless. Before John comes face to face with him, he will have to face a galaxy of tough guys who know everything about killing. Just before the grand finale of this murderous symphony, John Wick will be on the trail of his distant family, whose members may have a decisive influence on the outcome of the entire game.

A handful of interesting facts about John Wick

While today we can’t imagine anyone else in the title role than Keanu Reeves, the tentative list included Sylvester Stallone, Dolph Lundgren, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Bruce Willis, Kurt Russell, Nicolas Cage, Kevin Costner and Johnny Depp. Originally, the hero was supposed to be 60 years old, but when the creators finally thought about Keanu – they immediately changed their minds.

More curiosities? The film series helped Italian police intercept cocaine smuggling into Milan from Colombia. The investigators’ attention was drawn to a packet of coffee addressed to the name of a person whose name was the same as Wick’s main opponent in the second part, i.e. mafioso Satino D’Antonio.

In the second part, John has a tattoo on his back with the Latin phrase “fortis fortuna adiuvat”, which means “fortune favors the brave”. It was also counted that John Wick killed a total of 124 people with pistol shots! So far…

The greatest tribute to samurai cinema

Chad Stahelski, a former stuntman and director of all John Wick movies, revealed that the rules that govern the world of JW were taken mainly from samurai movies. Stahelski, a big fan of Japanese cinema, says:

I wanted Keanu to excel in a variety of martial arts. That’s why he was learning nunchaku and archery. Keanu did what he had to do to become even better as John Wick.

How does Reeves stay fit?

Keanu trained five hours a day before going on set to prepare for the hitman role. He practiced mixed martial arts, including jiu-jitsu, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, judo and tactical shooting. It’s not everything! The actor’s training also included exercises for joint stability and muscle flexibility. Reeves did strength training, but he didn’t use traditional weights, only special resistance bands. Thanks to such preparation, as much as 90% of the difficult action scenes on the set were performed by the 58-year-old actor himself, without the help of stuntmen.

John Wick 4 was the hardest for Keanu

However, Reeves claims that working on the fourth part was by far the most demanding for him:

When it comes to action, John Wick 4 is the hardest film I’ve ever made in my career. Many people go to the cinema to see these types of productions to be entertained by spectacular scenes. This time there are a lot of people out to get Wick!

Do we have a chance for a fifth part of John Wick?

Despite earlier reports that the fifth part will be shot simultaneously with the fourth part, it is known today that the creators decided to hold off. Keanu told Total Film magazine:

You have to see how the audience reacts to what we’ve already done. The only reason we had a chance to make these movies was because people liked them. It seems we have to wait and see what they say now.

The fourth part is the longest of all

The first part of the John Wick saga from 2014 lasted 101 minutes, the second from 2017: 122 minutes, the third from 2019: 131 minutes. And the fourth lasts 169 minutes. It’s a great gift for the fans.

We invite you to preview screenings from March 21 in cinemas. Official premiere on March 24!
