A Cyberpunk fan was amazed to find an exhibition dedicated to 2077… at the Museum of Failure. Cyberpunk 2077 went to the same museum that shows the world failures like Google Glass or the ET game . All because the game was full of bugs, and it was also removed from the PlayStation store for several months due to a flurry of refund requests.
The beloved Polish gaming studio CD Projekt RED has been working on this game for almost a decade. In the gaming community, it was the most anticipated title of the year, if not the century. Promoting the game in 2019, celebrity Keanu Reeves said, “I will say that the feeling of being there, walking the streets of the future, is truly breathtaking.”
Unfortunately, the huge interest led to huge disappointment. The game was not as spectacular as expected. It was full of bugs and glitches, including small trees covering the floors of buildings, tanks falling from the sky, and characters without pants while riding a motorcycle. Although, to be fair, we wouldn’t be surprised if that last element is what 2077 will be like given the direction the world is heading.
Angry fans are demanding their money back, and online retailers have stopped selling the game.
It seems that Cyberpunk 2077 has been in the Museum of Failure for some time, but Reddit user p4ul1023 has only now brought it to the attention of fans around the world. Not surprisingly, not everyone is convinced the game deserves its place, especially right next to ET.
Some cite the fact that they had no problems with the game from the very beginning. However, that didn’t mean everyone experienced a bug-free experience. Moreover, even without glitches, features that were showcased in promotional materials such as car chases and parkour were missing.
Others, however, point out that despite the unsuccessful launch, the game sold well. Sales only improved after bugs were fixed and free extensions were introduced. In addition, the success of the Netflix anime series, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, greatly increased the popularity of the game, especially since CD Projekt Red put it up for sale at the time of the series’ release.
