I remember this frustration to this day. Whenever it came to showing the screen where I should have found Wally, I was always ready and focused, and I rarely did. Contrary to appearances, it gave me great fun and I remember that time with great fondness. When I received the information that one of my favorite publishing houses in Poland decided to launch a series of books about this hero of my childhood, I did not hesitate and immediately bought the first two volumes with which I spent a very pleasant few hours.
Who to go, a magnifying glass to hand!
Recently, another volume of Wally’s adventures has been released. This time we are transferred to fantastic worlds full of knights, dragons, dryads and even giants. Our basic task is very simple: find Wally’s colors, creatures and objects in this jumble. The fun, however, does not end with indicating the whereabouts of the mentioned character! The author made sure that for each search area of two pages, not only a checklist with additional items to be tracked was included, but also at the beginning of the book he mentioned other characters who were also hiding somewhere (e.g. 25 Wally’s trackers). So there is something to do and all the pleasure can be properly dosed.
Great nystagmus
The book contains 12 two-page charts with amazing, colorful and detailed illustrations. Despite spending a long time with this publication, I still discover something new every time I look at them. We are transferred, among others for a great medieval feast in which not only people participate. There is also an illustration showing the clash of two cults (red and blue) or a scene from the castle of nasty nasty, in which witches and vampires play at the concert. Perfect nystagmus is provided by the pages devoted to the knights under the magic banner (where – as the name suggests – a lot is happening on the banners). Do you feel encouraged? And these are just a few of the pictures in the book!
Fun in a good edition
Wally’s book is larger than A4, so even the smallest details can be found. The hardcover and style in which the dust jacket was developed are consistent with the earlier parts, making it look good on a shelf. The only tiny minus from me – the pages could be stiffer, because when playing with a child, they can be easily torn when turning over.
Where is Wally? In my heart forever!
The fantastic journey provided me with great entertainment. My family and I had a great time with it and – because I like illustrations full of small details – I suspect that I am happy to watch it more than once (just like the previous volumes). I recommend it with all my heart!
