10 places to visit in “World of Warcraft”

For 18 years now, players have traveled across Azeroth (and beyond) across the board. And although some people know this world inside out, for many people it is still not fully discovered. In pursuit of levels, quests, items and achievements, they don’t have time to look at Blizzard’s creation calmly. And some places are worth visiting. So if you would like to discover interesting locations, we will be happy to help you. Here are our top 10!

Swanky Steam Pools resort – Feralas

At the outset, I would like to warn you that the list is not a ranking, but a subjective selection of ten places in the game that are worth visiting for various reasons. For help in its creation, I thank Gaming Kocur .

I will start with full chill and relaxation for our characters tired of constant fights and travels. Probably most of you are familiar with Gallywix’s Pleasure Palace, located north of Orgrimmar, where you can use the swimming pool, play golf and drink palm trees, but it still doesn’t compare to the Swanky Steam Pools resort! This location is located in Feralas and welcomes visitors from both the Horde and the Alliance. At your disposal are hot springs, sun loungers on the beach and a whole resort town where numerous NPCs will not only be happy to serve you, but they will even wash your mounts! Of course, there will also be drinks and snacks. Then just be careful – the resort is located high in the mountains, you can only get to it on a flying mount, and as you know, you can’t drive under the influence of alcohol!

Ruins of Lordaeron/Undercity

Initially, the list was not supposed to include the capitals and locations most known to players, but I have to make one exception. Well, if you go to the city of the Undead, and more precisely you will be traversing the place above it, i.e. the remnants of the great Lordaeron, turn off the music and leave only the sounds of the game. You’ll hear first the bell ringing, then the cheers of the crowd, which of course you won’t see. They are echoes of days gone by and Arthas’s triumphant return to his people. Go to the Throne Room to listen to the hero’s dialogue with his father, and finally, spoiler alert, hear the patricide scene. You will still find traces of King Terenas’ blood on the floor.

Faerie Ring – Whispering Forest

Now we move to the Whispering Forest, a forest located in the western mountains of the Trisfal Glades. Near its center you will find a strange circle made of glowing white mushrooms. Mist hangs over it most of the time, and although it looks mysterious, nothing much happens here. However, once in a while (about every 20 minutes) creatures known as Faerie Dragons come to him. They begin to fly above the circle, to finally settle into positions and start singing. Rays then emerge from the mushrooms and join together at the center of the mushroom circle. Sounds and lights attract other forest animals to this place to watch the whole ritual. It lasts about three minutes. It is not known what it leads to, because nothing extraordinary happens after it ends.

Underbelly – Dalaran Sewers

Another place worth visiting in the game is the Dalaran Sewers. Of course, people who have been playing World of Warcraft for years, probably spent many hours there performing various tasks or during PvP fights. For those who have recently arrived in Azeroth, however, this may be unfamiliar territory, yet it holds some secrets! You can find numerous merchants here, offering unique items, and also hit the black market where you will use a special currency. What’s more, a crocodile and even a shark can attack you here. Potions with unusual, often funny properties also appear here randomly. If you have some time, you can play fishing. Maybe you’ll be lucky and catch a mount, which is the Giant Rat. You can also get a wand that allows you to transform another player into a sheep. There is also an interesting easter egg. Now, if you look closely, you’ll notice a rat, who is teaching the four turtles in front of him a lesson. I don’t think I need to tell you what that reference is?

Robin the Entertainer – Nagrand

Our next stop will be Nagrand, more precisely an island in the South Sea (exact location 74.9 – 96.8). There you will find a magic lamp with a blue genie named Robin trapped inside, who will jump out as soon as you touch it. This is a tribute made at the request of players by Blizzard to the tragically deceased actor Robin Williams. The artist was an active WoW player , which he emphasized in many interviews, so it’s no wonder fans wanted to commemorate him. A petition was created, which the creators were very happy to implement. Of course, the form of the genie refers to the movie Aladdin, in which Williams lent his voice to one of the characters. Let’s add that the words spoken by the NPC are quotes from the aforementioned animation. While on the spot, it is still worth looking around carefully. On the ground you will find a broken egg with extraterrestrial technology inside. This is a reference to the television series Mork and Mindy , in which the actor also played one of the title roles.

Vordrassil – Grizzly Hills

In Azeroth, players have had the opportunity to see several World Trees that have grown to incredible proportions through magic. Of course, the most famous was Teldrassil, also called the “Crown of the World”. However, thanks to Sylvana, it has ceased to exist, so you will not see it with the latest additions. At least if it doesn’t grow back. So if you are interested in Warcraft flora, then you should go to Northerend, more precisely to Grizzly Hills, to be able to see Vordrassil. Both new and old. It was created as a result of a failed attempt to recreate the old World Tree by the druids. It is now known as “Broken Crown”. Its roots reached as far as the underground prison of Yogg-Saron, and the Old God imbued it with his evil energy. It was she who caused the nearby creatures to go mad. So if you wander there, watch out for crazy furbolgs.

UP-house – Pandaria

Blizzard loves to put various Easter eggs and references to the world of pop culture in World of Warcraft . In the game you can meet Harrison Jones, Haris Pilton or complete the One Ring quest . And these are just a few of many examples. For fans of the Upside animation and generally those who like Pixar, I recommend going to the continent of Pandaria, and more specifically to Jade Forest. It is there, on a mountainous small island, that you will find a house with balloons on the roof, referring to the aforementioned title. Inside you will meet an elderly pandaren named Kar (Carl’s equivalent). In front of the entrance, there is a young man with a backpack – Rusty Nail, which is undoubtedly related to Russel. Finally, there is also the dog Dig, who probably took his name from Dug.

Challe’s Home For Little Tykes – Nagrand

It’s now one of the strangest and darkest places you can visit – shrouded in terror and mystery, Challe’s Home For Little Tykes. This place can be called an orphanage, kindergarten or nursery. There are numerous toys, a sandbox, a merry-go-round, and kids of different races run around, belonging to both the Horde and the Alliance. In the big tent you will find even more teddy bears, but also cradles with babies. Everything is supervised by the only adult person – the troll Challe. You may ask, where are the scary things here? Peeking behind the tent, you’ll notice hidden cages with skeletons of kids in them. not enough for you? Then look what the “babysitter” is cooking in the boiler right next to her. You’ve probably already guessed that our NPC thinks that babies are sweet, but they can also come in other flavors. Depends on the spices.

Vrykul Ship – Howling Fjord

When traveling around Outland, it is worth moving to Howling Fjord, and more specifically to the area of Menethil port. This point of our program is probably very well known to Alliance players, because they had to sail around it when starting their adventure with the Wrath of the Lich King expansion , but members of the Horde may have never seen it. We are talking about a destroyed ship of Vrykul chained to the cliffs. Interestingly, it is forever on fire, although it never burns down. Suspended over a narrow canal, it makes an interesting impression and is memorable. That’s why it’s worth seeing it with your own eyes.

Karazhan – Deadwind Pass

Finally, this is a place where you will have to spend a little more time. You can’t just fly to it and see it, but you have to go inside and explore it with a group. We’re talking about the Karazhan instance. This place was once the seat of the mage Medivh, today it is haunted and full of evil lurking in the corners. However, not only opponents are waiting for you here. You will be able to take part in one of several performances on stage, including Romeo and Juliet , Little Red Riding Hood or The Wizard of Oz , become one of the chess pieces and play a game like in Harry Potter! In addition, you will fight dragons and visit the library. And that’s still not all. I must admit that Blizzard really tried, and the creators had a great idea, which, moreover, the players appreciated and were very eager to visit the Tower, not only to get items and achievements!

Bonus: Dark Portal – Blasted Lands

And finally, one more extra spot! The Dark Portal is, of course, a very well-known place and often visited by many people. However, if you haven’t had a chance to visit it yet, it’s your duty! After all, it was him who started it all. Had it not arisen, the orcs would not have appeared on Azeroth, the war would not have started, and many subsequent events would never have happened. Sure, the world, and in it humans, dwarves, elves and other races would live peacefully, but on the other hand, could they handle the Burning Legion, the Lich King and other threats alone? In turn, we would not get a great RPG, and then the most famous MMORPG. So head over to the Blasted Lands at your leisure and see for yourself where Warcraft ‘s story began !
