02/24/2022: An anthology to help Ukraine

“We are not bombed, our relatives are not killed in the streets, but (for us too) the war continues. We are at its frontier and this distance from the epicenter of the catastrophe means that our fight can be mainly a symbol, gesture, word that says yes, yes, no, no. “

This is a quote from the introduction by Wojciech Gunia to the anthology on 02/24/2022 – a publication from which the proceeds will be donated to help Ukrainians and Ukrainians, and more specifically the Proliska humanitarian organization supporting civilians fleeing the war.

It is a grassroots, spontaneous action by the creators and readers of horror fantasy, initiated by the writer Jarosław Klonowski. Publishing House IX will be responsible for the publication of the anthology . The first media patron of the anthology was the Biały Kruk magazine .

Participation in February 24, 2022 was declared by, among others , Jakub Bielawski , Łukasz Orbitowski , Radek Rak, Michał Cetnarowski, Michał Protasiuk, Magdalena Salik and Marcin Podlewski. The editorial supervision of the publication was taken over by Anna Kańtoch . About eighty prose authors are qualified for the anthology, including Ukrainian voices.

The premiere of the anthology in the form of an e-book is planned for March 25. Two volumes will be published – prose and comics, and, at a slightly later date, poetry. Selected texts will be translated into Ukrainian and published in paper. What’s next? Audiobooks and radio plays. Here we will probably have a lot to say – fandom, fantasy readers.

We will keep you posted on the progress of work; You will surely find meetings with people involved in the creation on the web on 02/24/2022 . We also invite you to a conversation about the anthology with Jakub Bielawski, which will take place on Wednesday, March 23, on the friendly blog Nerdheim .
